I went to sleep while holding on to it in my hand,
Afraid to lose it,
Not wanting anyone to touch it,
But me.
Whenever I breathe in,
It lingered for a while,
Warming my heart,
With you in my thoughts.
The next morning,
It was still in my hand,
After all my tossing & turnings,
Which surprised me.
Had to put it in the laundry,
To be washed & all,
As I let it go,
Everything felt different.
Afraid to lose it,
Not wanting anyone to touch it,
But me.
Whenever I breathe in,
It lingered for a while,
Warming my heart,
With you in my thoughts.
The next morning,
It was still in my hand,
After all my tossing & turnings,
Which surprised me.
Had to put it in the laundry,
To be washed & all,
As I let it go,
Everything felt different.
