Absence Of The Kind Painter

Okay,I know this is a little late for me to write but I'll just write it anyways...it all started on the 1st of July.A different person came to our class (4K) so we thought she was just filling in & not gonna teach us.She then introduced herself as her name is Farhah & she'll be our substitute teacher for 2 months. We weren't much interested in her at 1st but the more she taught us,the more we loved her.We started to like her & most of us thought she'd replace our English teacher permanently (Pn. Ghwee the witch) because her teaching techniques are amazing & it made some of the lazy ones to actually do their work.

Weeks passed & she made English into such a fun subject.Doing literature wasn't something we liked but watching the animated videos almost made them look silly! (laughs) I especially liked one of her classes when she taught us how to make popcorn & she even brought the ingredients along with the popcorn machine. *smiles* We had fun & the popcorn was great! Before I move on,she gave us files to put in the work she'd given us.Everytime we're done,we'd almost always get this chop that's either a rainbow,a lightbulb or a star that says "Movie Star" above & below it.

The girls even decorated the files by writing something on it or just coloured the chops she gave us.Back to Miss Farhah. So now in this post about her, she's been teaching us for a month now & she has one month left to teach us.The holidays was starting so only a few days or a week we won't be seeing her. When the holidays were over & we were back to our usual classes (not that it changed or anything so don't ask why I've written this) ,she told us within 2 weeks we're going to 'perform' in groups for the literature "Looking For A Rain God".We were excited so let me forward this to 2 weeks later. She gave us props & pieces of papers to write our dialogs.

We played parts we wanted & agreed to stick with it.Divya (a certain classmate who sits beside me) put up some of the props on the wall by putting some of this sticky stuff (if any of you know, please tell me what it is) at he back of them. When Miss Farhah saw it,she took a picture of it & it was time to present our performance. The group with the 1st scene was quite hysterical & we all laughed our heads off.Miss Farhah was recording every of our performances. It was time for me & my friends' group to perform the 2nd scene. We were quite dull & boring at 1st but once we reached to meeting the witch-doctor (played by Divya) ,we all laughed once again especially towards Divya's act 'cause she was so funny with the voice & bending her back.As the scenes went on,the performances began to be like a comedy show.

When me & my friends went up for the 5th scene,we had a lot of fun doing it & some of us even added some lines not following the dialog I wrote (but that was fine 'cause we were havong so much fun) .Mokgobja was played by Melissa,Ramadi by Rachel Yeong,Tiro & Nesta by Steffi & Angeline while Neo & Boseyong was played by Divya & Gayathri.Melissa & Rachel had fun 'killing' the girls while me,Asvini & Xi Wen were laughing mixing up our lines.Miss Farhah thought we weren't finished so she asked,"Are you guys done?" & we all were like,"Yeah...".If I'm not mistaken it was time for Nana's group to perform. It was hilarious! It was the part where the policeman(played by Nana) comes to the village & asks the village people where Mokgobja & his family lives.

Of where the village people pointed to,the policeman went there & 'knocked' on 'the door'.Nana opened half of the whole door & Eunice pushed the other one hard & accidently hit Nana!We all laughed our heads off & was enjoying it for a moment. *smiles* I've forgotten about the other's performances but I still remember how silly every scene was. *laughs* We had a group photo before Miss Farhah left. Some of us had fun posing with the props she gave us.A few days later would be her last day & a few of us (sorry if there were more) were quite excited for the day to come.

It was finally Friday & it was Miss Farhah's last day to be in our school & to teach us.Eventhough a lot of us talked,we were quite dead during the 1st period. The 2nd period after recess we were energetic (I think) & once she finished teaching us what's left there is to teach, she gave each of us a bookmark she made for us & the class of 4S.It was so sweet of her to do so,she then asked us if we wanted to give or say something better do so now because she had a surprise for us.I gave her a piece of paper that said,"We'll Miss You,Teacher!" with a few of my classmates signature & most of their messages with their name written either on top or below it.She then showed the performances we did a few days ago & we laughed at all the silly things each classmate did (not all of us though) !

After that, she showed us a video she made herself that included most of the pictures she took with & of us while the 'theme song' was "One Step At A Time" by Jordin Sparks.I just loved when she commented about us from the video. As it ended most of us just went,"Aww...that was so touching, teacher!" & etc. then it was time for us to leave.Oh,contrare...it's not over yet because most of us stayed to hug her, have a photo session with her & got to hear what she had forgotten to say. She's the greatest substitute teacher & it took her time to say it because she was crying & was about to cry.

She said,"Of all the times we had & teaching you guys,I'll always have a place in my heart for all of you." & tears finally went down her cheeks.I was so touched until I cried & hugged her tight,so did the other girls while thanking her for enlightening our English class that was dull before she came. (let's skip this to when school ended on that exact same day *winks*) I straight away went to the teacher's office & started to look around for Miss Farhah.I found her & caught her attention.I just couldn't myself but to see her one more time & said,"Sorry, teacher but can I have a moment with you?I know you're leaving soon but just write down a few details about you in here." & I handed out a book of mine for her to write in.I asked her to leave a short message for me if she wanted to & she did.

I was just curious what she was writing & she said,"Don't look.I'm very shy" so I let her have a little privacy.Once she was done,we hugged for the last time & said our final goodbyes.I didn't open the book until I was back home just to surprise myself. When I opened to the page where she'd written,I was tearing up again & hoped that I could see her again one day.

Message for Miss Farhah : Teacher,we all miss you so much & we hope to see you again soon!!We love you so much & noone can replace the best English substitute teacher such as yourself!Still loving & missing ya...!! xoxo
